Introduction:
There are two airports serving Bucharest; Henri Coanda Airport (previously called Otopeni, and still widely known as such) and Baneasa. The latter is mostly only used by some budget airlines and for some domestic flights. Both are outside the city to the north.
Otopeni can be reached from Piata Romana on the 385 bus or from Piata Unirii on the 783 bus (for which you need special magnetic cards, available from most ticket kiosks). Otopeni is small by international standards but as it is rarely particularly busy, you can check in quite quickly. Only passangers may pass through to the check-in hall. It's three main sections are arrivals (sosiri), departures (plecari) and domestic flights (zbururi interne).
